How We Choose Featured Events
Featured events appear prominently on our homepage because we believe they are especially worth your attention.
What “Featured” means
Featured placement is editorial — a judgment call by the Evangelist team. It is not something organizers pay for.
In the future, organizers may pay for separate Promoted placement. Promoted events will appear in designated slots and carry a clear “Promoted” label. They will never be disguised as editorial picks.
Why we feature an event
We feature an event when at least one of these applies:
- We've been there. A team member has attended this event (or a previous edition) and found it genuinely worthwhile.
- Trusted recommendation. Someone whose judgment we trust speaks highly of it from direct experience.
- We're personally invested. We plan to attend, have been involved in the past, or are closely connected to the community putting it on.
Quality bar
- Authentically Christian — worship, formation, fellowship, service, or evangelization
- Accurate listing — clear date, time, location, and description
- Real event — not spam, duplicate, or misleading
- Appropriate for the audience — niche focus should be clear in the listing
What we do not do
- Pay-to-feature — payment does not buy editorial Featured placement
- Feature everything — most good events belong in search and browse
- Guarantee outcomes — featuring is a recommendation, not a blanket endorsement
